Hasbro Children’s Hospital renovation project is underway for their 8-story, 78,500 sq-ft building located in Providence, RI. Unique Metal Works and Arden Engineering Constructors are working on the project which will include multiple demolition and reconstruction phases while the hospital is actively providing care for their patients.

The work will take place on the hospitals six floors including patient rooms, nurses’ stations, lobby’s and waiting areas, offices and conferences rooms, recovery and holding areas as well as the ambulatory areas, the Tomorrow Fund Clinic, and the Behavioral Bridge Clinic.

UNIQUE is handling all demo of existing duct work, as well as furnishing and installing new duct work. ARDEN is responsible for both the HVAC and Fire Protection scopes. The HVAC work will include installation of VAV’s and registers, as well as grilles and diffusers. Fire Protection will include removal and replacement of current sprinkler heads with new concealed heads – a total of 900 above and 900 below ceilings. Connection will then be made to the hospitals existing wet sprinkler.
The goal of the project is to ensure that the physical environment of the hospital matches the level of care that is provided. Completion is slated for February 2022.
