Project Overview

Replacement of underground steam and condensate piping to support a new distributed heating system. Ten-foot deep trenches were created throughout the campus to incorporate the 8,600′ of carbon steel piping. The piping installation included a multi-step protection process using x-ray welding, insulation, leak detection wire, pressure tests, and several protective wrap layers. Three new replacement boilers were installed in the main boiler building and condensate receiver tanks in seven buildings. New underground polyethylene gas piping (4,400′) was installed to support seven new outside generators.

Building Controls (Earthwise Energy Technologies) included the development of a remote graphical user interface, integration to the boiler control system, alarming and trending, combustion air control, leak detection, and emergency shutdown.

Sheetmetal (Unique Metal Works) included the installation of louver, exhaust fan, and all related ductwork.
