Students Complete Spring Internship at Arden Engineering Constructors

Two students from Bishop Hendricken High School recently completed an internship at Arden Engineering Constructors, LLC as part of the Senior Experience Program.

As a requirement for all graduating seniors, the program runs in the spring of each year and allows students the opportunity to obtain professional experience for six hours each week.

While placement within the community varies depending on the interests of individual students, the Senior Experience Program provides exposure to various career pathways that seniors may want to explore upon graduation.

Over the course of the nine meetings, the two student interns placed with us at Arden Engineering followed a detailed curriculum which allowed them to engage with Arden personnel and explore different aspects of the mechanical contracting business. Whether it was learning the basics of project estimating with our Senior Mechanical Estimator, Waymon Jones, or working in our fabrication shop with Foreman Steve Brierly, the students received valuable hands-on experience, all the while learning the safety precautions that are inherently embedded into all of our work.

This is a valuable program offered by Bishop Hendricken and Arden has been a proud collaborator since 2009. It not only offers high school students a glimpse into the professional world, but it allows them to have “real-life” experiences before they declare an undergraduate major or choose a career pathway. We are proud to be a part of that.
