Arden Engineering Constructors and Earthwise Energy Technologies worked on the Providence College Schneider Arena project, completely redesigning their ice rink chilled water system. Arden’s engineering department used advanced scanning technologies and virtual design and construction (VDC) software to develop a 3D model of the whole new chiller plant.
Earthwise implemented a comprehensive control system that collects data from sensors embedded in the ice rink to maintain a consistent temperature. The system notifies personnel if the ice temperature changes. Adjustments can then be made easily based on the display screen information.
The project provided reduced energy consumption and increased performance.
